Uche Ignites Dominant Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the last 16, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity

This occasion offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.

A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season were no match against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Control Established from the Start

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A flowing move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward tap-in.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close soon after, fizzing a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee dismissed the appeals.

Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's effort had hit the post.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for two robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
